Year of the Plague: I Turned My Life Around with a Basket of Vegetables

A bold and glamorous ancient-era female county magistrate meets a warmhearted modern third-generation rich heir.

Plague ran rampant, and people resorted to eating their own children.

Yan Qingwan's battered vegetable basket ate tribute offerings, then brought back ingredients.

She figured her mother must have appeared to her in spirit.

But inside was an exceptionally beautiful man.

He granted her every request, providing food, medicinal herbs, seeds, and even teaching her beauty and makeup tips and delivering takeout...

The battered vegetable basket Gu Jingsheng bought for a hundred million became the laughingstock of the antiques world. Little did he know it was also a hungry ghost, eating whatever it was given and even making demands.

Quick, fetch a master...

Before long, the hungry ghost had grown beautiful and filial, could help authenticate antiques, and even gave him top-quality antiques. He couldn't have been happier.

She wanted medicine, he gave it to her.

She wanted food, he gave it to her.

She wanted to open a restaurant, he gave her recipes from all eight major cuisines.

She wanted to open an embroidery shop, he gave her Xiang embroidery, Shu embroidery, and gold-thread embroidery.

She wanted to solve cases, he gave her Anatomy and The Washing Away of Wrongs.

When she ran into a green-tea schemer, he gave her The Essential Guide to Spotting Green Tea.

She wanted to fight a war, he gave her bulletproof vests, AKs, and mortars.

In short, as long as she was happy, that was all that mattered.

Until the hungry ghost said, "You're pretty good-looking. Be my husband!"

He replied, "I was just about to ask you the same thing."
