After Abandoning My Husband and Daughter, My Whole Family Regretted It

Six months pregnant, I watched with my own eyes as Song Qingxue, my husband’s confidante, smashed the cat I had raised into a bloody pulp and threw it into the courtyard.

I rushed at Song Qingxue and slapped her, but the shock and grief caused me to miscarry.

The doctor said that I had never recovered properly after giving birth to my daughter, and the illness had left its mark. It would likely be very difficult for me to conceive again.

But my husband and daughter accused me of deliberately letting the cat out to scratch Song Qingxue’s hands, hands skilled at wielding both sword and spear.

I asked for a divorce, but they thought I was just throwing a tantrum. They figured I would come crawling back after suffering enough out in the world, and even tried to seize my dowry to “force me to return.”

They thought they could control me as they pleased. But when I appeared before them with my new child and husband, they fell apart, broke down, and knelt before me, begging me to come back.
