Love and Longing Have Nothing to Do with Beauty

While in graduate school, Cheng Liang’ai became the tutor of He Xingyi, a former child star. Over the next three years, they went from teacher and student to friends who could talk about their hopes and dreams. During that time, Cheng Liang’ai’s father passed away, her mother fell into a vegetative state, and her younger brother and sister had just started college. Though she had planned to pursue a doctorate, Cheng Liang’ai had no choice but to give up her future and teach at a school. Harassed and slandered by students’ parents, and pressured while the school leaders turned a blind eye, Cheng Liang’ai was forced to resign and enter the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, He Xingyi was suffering the entertainment industry’s first wave of online abuse. The two lost touch. Five years later, they reunite in a sweet romantic drama about an older woman and a younger man. Once an unknown teacher and student, they now have to play a couple. In public, they are actors who don’t know each other; in private, they both fall for each other. A ten-year age gap, public criticism, and career crises are no match for the sincerity they feel for one another. After seven years of secret love, their feelings finally come true. You’re the one I keep finding my way back to, the one I’ll always fall in love with.
