(Personal opinion) I don't know why, but I always feel that this book is not scary. It is not as scary as criminal investigation novels.

This book is okay, provided that it is viewed as a short story. As for why it is rated as a bad book, I believe that many book friends, like me, know whether this book is worth reading based on the negative reviews. The whole book is an infinite loop of short stories. If you read it as a novel, it's a mess. You think it is Liu Dazhuang's infinite loop, but in fact the whole book is the protagonist's infinite loop.

The plot feels so pretentious and a bit poisonous
