The Farmer's Widow: A Little Kitchen Goddess

Marrying a widower? Shen Xinlan couldn't help feeling delighted. Widowers were the best! She was a committed opponent of marriage, and at last no one would be hounding her to tie the knot. But could someone tell her why the staple foods here were potatoes and sweet potatoes? She was dying for rice, and noodles too! With her cooking skills, Shen Xinlan set up a snack business to earn money, bringing along a pair of stepchildren she'd acquired on the cheap. But you, freeloading at my house without paying is one thing, but why are you getting handsy now? I'm a widow, a widow, a widow! Well, if one meal won't settle this, we'll have two. And if two aren't enough, I'll keep feeding you until you admit defeat!
