Cherishing the Concubine

An innocent family was caught up in a conspiracy. Her father was imprisoned, her friends and relatives turned against her, their wealth was gone, and her mother hanged herself. With nowhere else to turn, Chi Nuan stopped the horse of General Sheng Ziye. Sheng Ziye took her to his residence and leisurely watched as her soft figure knelt before him, pleading desperately. “There’s nothing I can do, unless…” Chi Nuan understood. This was a transaction. Her slender fingers trembled as she slowly took off her outer robe… After one night, she guarded the family home, hoping only for her father to return. But he never came. Instead, Sheng Ziye told her, “Become my mistress, and I’ll make sure you want for nothing.”
