Strange Tales of the Northeast

Everyone says the Mao family rules the south and the Ma family rules the north. But there are hardly any spirit mediums left in the Ma family of Northeast China. These days, the people most likely to have dealings with the supernatural are the disciples who serve spirits there. Take me, for example. Before I was even born, I was destined to become one of them. Everything I experienced should be happening all around us, yet most people will never experience it in their entire lives. When I think back on those strange and bizarre events, sometimes they feel like a dream, but at other times they seem completely real. Sometimes even I can't tell whether they actually happened. This story is adapted from tales passed down by the elders. I hope you enjoy it.
