A Report to Your Majesty: The Empress Has Gone on Strike Again

When Gan Tang wakes up, she discovers she’s won the “grand prize” of transmigration. No matter, at least she’s an empress with status and power, and the only flower in the imperial harem. All she has to do is look beautiful.

Except...

Someone: “Empress, you’re going to court tomorrow!”

Gan Tang explodes. Gritting her teeth at the sickly man in front of her, she says, “What did you say? The wind is too loud. I can’t hear you.”

He smiles. “Empress, I have faith in you. Don’t let down the high hopes I have for you.”

Gan Tang roars so loudly that the whole harem hears her. She agreed to be empress so she could enjoy herself, not do work. Work is the emperor’s job.

And yet...

The ministers: “Your Majesty, it’s time for you to attend court!”

Gan Tang glares at the ministers kneeling before her. “Can’t I refuse?”

The ministers: “Your Majesty, please think this through!”

Gan Tang doesn’t want to attend court any day of the week. Being empress is such a raw deal. At last, one day, she gets her wish and doesn’t have to attend court, but it’s because His Majesty announces, “The Empress is with child, so there will be no court today!”
