Legends of the Eastern Zhou Kingdoms

King You of Zhou lit the beacon towers beneath Mount Li, but the flames brought disaster, and the Western Zhou was wiped from the earth. The Eastern Zhou rose from its ruins. Duke Zhuang of Zheng wounded the Son of Heaven in the shoulder with an arrow, and the world was thrown into turmoil. Duke Huan of Qi, Duke Wen of Jin, Duke Mu of Qin, and King Zhuang of Chu took turns on history's stage. Wars of conquest, struggles for royal power, political schemes, old grudges and new passions shaped the age. Kings, counselors, members of the harem, and even wandering heroes all make their appearances. A host of historical figures shone like stars: Guan Zhong, Zhao Dun, Baili Xi, Meng Mingshi, Jizu, Zichan, Yan Zi, Wu Zixu, Sun Wu, Confucius, and many more. What did they do? There were no righteous wars in the Spring and Autumn period, but the people of that time didn't see it that way.
