The General Is Beautiful and Dashing, and the Powerful Minister Bows at Her Feet

[Female general disguised as a man vs. obsessive court official] Everyone says Ge Ningyu, the general’s adopted son, is a dog who’s always rushing to clean up the general’s messes. Little do they know she’s the legitimate daughter of the Ge family, disguised as a man. One day, the emperor summons her back to the capital. Waiting for her are her father’s death and a grand banquet that is really a trap. The court is full of treacherous schemes and secret maneuvers. One careless misstep could cost her life. She is as cautious as she can be, but she still can’t handle a low-born man who keeps egging her on. She can’t stand Wen Jingyuan, who loves to tattle. He’s always playing with those little wooden dolls and tripping her up at every turn. At first, Wen Jingyuan watched Ge Ningyu, bound hand and foot to the torture rack, while working his carving knife. “The general is so beautiful. What perfect material for a puppet.” Later, Wen Jingyuan held her in his arms, teasing her lips. “Sister, forget everything I said before. If you like, I can be your puppet.” Only at the very end did Ge Ningyu learn that the ruthless, smiling tiger had risked everything for her twice: once with his heart, and once with his life. Content notes: 1. The heroine has transmigrated, but has no overpowered golden finger. The romance develops later. 2. The author is terrible at coming up with names. 3. Set in an alternate version of the Western Han dynasty. Please don’t nitpick the historical details.
