Great Tang: So You Really Are Li Shimin

Lin Chuan transmigrates to the Zhenguan era of the Tang Dynasty, where he becomes the young owner of a tavern.

One day, Li Er of the Tang Dynasty and Changsun Wuji come by for a drink.

Li Er says, “Shopkeeper, this heavy snowfall is a sign of a good harvest. Surely it heralds the flourishing of our great Tang!”

Lin Chuan replies, “Not so. The Turks in the northern frontier must be freezing and starving, people and livestock alike. I’d say this is a sign they’re about to raise an army.”

Changsun Wuji scoffs, “A lowly shopkeeper presuming to understand the affairs of the realm? Ridiculous!”

Three days later:

“Report! Your Majesty, the Turks are leading an army of a hundred thousand south! Please decide what we should do!”

Li Er says, “Quick, prepare some plain clothes. I’m going to the tavern for a drink!”
