I’ll Give You All the Candy

This is more or less a dual-male-lead story, though I personally prefer Gu Yizhou.

Xu Qianshi is the moon in the sky. In the darkness, Su Xiaoxiao can only look up at him to find the courage to grit her teeth and keep going.

Gu Yizhou, on the other hand, is the lamp that never goes out by her side.

This is an older novel that tries to explore family, romance, and friendship.

The pacing is very slow at first. It mostly follows the heroine’s brave, impulsive youth as she secretly nurses a crush. Later, the story moves into the entertainment industry. I recommend starting from Chapter 404; you won’t miss anything.

It’s a little melodramatic, with lots of small everyday moments. Some parts are a little angsty, others are very sweet, and it has a happy ending!

[Xu Qianshi’s story]

All she could do was gaze at his distant back: watch him hurry past the classroom window, his tall figure and handsome profile; watch him ride his bicycle through the lush summer shade, beneath the light and shadows unique to youth.

They grew up from awkward adolescence and went through so much, yet regrettably never ended up together.

But she didn’t hate him, because he was the brightest dream of her girlhood.

[Gu Yizhou’s story]

Sometimes a clown, sometimes a thoughtful little ball of sunshine. In the later part of the story, most of the scenes are interactions between him and the heroine.
