The Grim Reaper's Constable

The Five Continents were in the early days of the Great Xin Kingdom, and a hidden current was beginning to stir. The imperial court received reports from prefectures across the land: cases of ghosts and other evil creatures harming people had occurred one after another within their jurisdictions. The ordinary constables and bailiffs at local offices were powerless to deal with them. After hearing the news, Emperor Yuanjing flew into a rage and issued an edict recruiting extraordinary people from across the land to establish the Demon Suppression Bureau. The Bureau was divided into four branches: Heaven, Earth, Mystic, and Yellow. Each branch had one Nether Constable, with several spectral bailiffs under their command, responsible for investigating cases committed by evil spirits throughout the realm. The emperor also ordered the Imperial Preceptor, Daoist Master Zizhu, to collect the essence of dark iron from the dragon veins of the Five Continents and forge the Demon-Suppressing Divine Sword. The sword would be enshrined in the Bureau to suppress the realm, protect the dynasty, and subdue demons and evil spirits!
