During the reign of Emperor Yizong of the Tang Dynasty, a jailbreak occurred from the Dali Temple Prison in Chang'an. Among the four escaped prisoners, one of them was Yu Xuanji, a famous poetess in Chang'an. The prison break made the emperor furious, and he assigned Jingzhao Yin Duzhang to investigate the case. After some investigation, he found traces of the criminals escaping to Wutai Town. As a result, Yu Xuanji was successfully captured there, but he was intercepted and killed by a mysterious organization in the canyon on his way back. Liu Erlang, the Marquis of Wu of Chang'an, was ordered to start hunting down Yu Xuanji and others.
