Letter from Heaven

A Letter from Heaven

The Case Notes of Huang Ni, Psychologist

Huang Ni, a psychologist, has recently taken on a patient named Xiao Li, who is showing clear signs of anxiety.

He says he has the same nightmare over and over every night:

A letter drifts down from heaven... Its contents are all curses and insults from Madam Guo Jia, a former employer he once worked for, who has since passed away. The recurring nightmares leave him anxious and unable to escape them. He asks the doctor to help him break free...

What occupies the mind by day haunts it at night. Xiao Li’s anxiety must be closely connected to things he has done and thoughts he has entertained. Psychologist Huang Ni begins treating the anxious patient. In the process, she gradually learns from him an unheard-of story about loving and being loved, betrayal and deception...
