The Art of Coffin Mountain

Feng Lin is a small-time shopkeeper who runs an antique store in Beijing's Panjiayuan flea market. While renovating the old building that houses his shop, he discovers a hidden room behind a secret compartment beneath the wall. In a corner of the small room sits a locked red wooden chest. Inside it are several things: a palm-sized solid gold waist token, a battered old book of mystical escape arts, another ancient book from the Ming Dynasty filled with accounts of many secrets, and a tattered map. The chest is full of secrets, and reveals that his family are descendants of a legendary clan of tomb raiders.

Secrets passed down through the family from ancient times are gradually revealed. His father's sudden disappearance is connected to all this: he went in search of the legendary objects.

His brother returns, too: Zhao Lei, a retired special forces soldier. Following in their father's footsteps, they set out to find the legendary ancient ruins, and are forced to enter terrifying places.

They venture into forbidden zones meant for the living, battle zombies with magic, and match wits with the living. They encounter a ghostly fox spirit with a corpse's face, bewitching women in desolate burial mounds, a deadly thousand-year-old white-furred civet, walking corpses wearing beautiful women's skin, and a ghost ship that sank beneath the sea and is only seen once in decades.

What secrets are hidden in a tattered map and a section of dragon bone carved with runes?
