The Carefree Prince-Consort

Gu Beichuan transmigrated to the Great Qian dynasty, into a wealthy family. But because he was an uneducated wastrel, his father, Gu Jun, flew into a rage and sent him to Huainan to run a struggling wine shop.

Who could have known that, with the help of his modern knowledge and experience, Gu Beichuan would thrive in Huainan and grow his business bigger and bigger!

Gu Jun had only meant to send his son to Huainan to toughen him up for a couple of years and teach him a lesson. Once he’d had some training, he could come home and inherit the family business. But who could have guessed...

“Son, behave yourself in Huainan and don’t cause trouble. I’ll convince your stepmother, then you can come home and inherit the family business.”

“Son, your younger brother has passed the imperial examinations and earned the title of presented scholar. He won’t compete with you for the family business anymore. Hurry home.”

“Son, our business keeps getting bigger, and I’m old and can’t keep up. I won’t be able to protect our fortune much longer. Please hurry back and inherit the family business.”

Faced with his father’s constant pleas, Gu Beichuan, now the richest man in Huainan, married to a princess and deeply favored by the emperor, fell silent for a moment before replying helplessly, “Father, why don’t you and Stepmother have another child?”
