A Republican-Era Record of Killer Hunts

As the favored disciple of the highest-ranking commander of the Ministry of Justice in the Republic of China, and the junior among the capital's "Thirteen Guardians," he solved one bizarre case after another while in service and earned great renown. But luck was never on his side: the woman he loved married someone else, those who loved him died, his brothers set him up, his disciple killed him, and his master was the mastermind behind it all. Yet he would say, "I'm nobody. Do I really look that stupid?"

In The Shangjin Aristocrats' Mutilation Case, he caught the culprit, but was so terrified that he couldn't sleep for seven days and nights, convinced a dog was chasing him and trying to bite him.

In The Marshal's Residence Fox Spirit Murder Case, he nearly got trapped in a cave and left to live out the rest of his life as a wild man. From then on, he was afraid of women.

In The Mid-Autumn Floating Corpse Drama on Fuxian River, he ventured into the tiger's den and captured the tiger cub. But because he was so handsome, he was nearly abducted and sold into an illicit pleasure house to serve as a young master. After that, he never left home.

But in Mountain, River, Yue Ming Heads East, he sheds every disguise. As sharp as a cheetah breaking free from the darkness, he begins a true showdown with his master, who has become a dark knight.
