In the fall of 2012, Zhang Yuwu had just graduated from college when his father was seriously injured in a car accident. Zhang Yuwu returned to his hometown to care for his injured father and sick younger brother, and stayed in Shanhe County to make a living. Over the ten years he put down roots in this small northeastern city, his hard work and perseverance became intertwined with the development of the new era. Those were also ten years of controversy and devastating setbacks. But with his unyielding determination, and the strong support of his lover, Yang Mingyan, his closest friends and family, and the Party and government, he overcame one seemingly impossible obstacle after another. He transformed the abandoned mine pits of Golden Eagle Mountain into a valuable asset, turning them into the Golden Eagle Mountain Tourist Resort. This not only eased the local employment crisis but also made Golden Eagle Mountain tourism a local symbol. In ten years, Zhang Yuwu turned a coal city drained of its resources into a tourism capital. He breathed new life into his battered, declining hometown and brought back its clear waters and blue skies!
