The Brocade-Clad Guard Reigns Supreme

In the third year of the Jinghan era under the Great Liang, Jiang Ce, clad in white, held the northern gate alone. He slew a thousand Turkic troops, raised a boundary marker on the banks of the Bishui River, and was made Prince of the North. In the fourth year of Jinghan, his old wounds flared up. The Prince of the North fell gravely ill, and the whole realm mourned. Two years later, the Turks marched south. The Prince of the North's consort was forced to marry a Turk and sent away to secure peace. That day, snow and wind filled the sky, and plum blossoms bloomed across countless trees. That day, the Prince of the North's black hair turned white, and a hundred thousand troops crossed the Bishui River! From then on, save for the three layers of snow upon your robes, who under heaven could wear white but the Prince of the North!
