The "fly in the ointment" is that in the early days of Tianqi's power, it was similar to the crazy imperial staff's oppression of ministers in the Jiajing "Great Ceremony" incident, which is slightly inconsistent with modern times. After reading 60+ chapters, I can only say that it is just okay. It is much better than those rubbish novels. However, as a bookworm of 20+ years, I can't stand it. There are no highlights to attract me. Philosophy, culture, literature, military, history, emotions, ups and downs of the plot... Nothing, some are just erotic and self-pleasure. There are only pig's feet. The others are all background NPCs, as dull as zombies. Yes, it's like pig's feet playing a historical game of the Ming Dynasty.

I couldn't stop reading after reading chapter 54. The narrative is straightforward, everything is done personally, the main and dark plots are not distinguished, the protagonist's aura is 99%, the supporting characters are puppets, the literary skills are not good enough, and there is almost no detailed psychological portrayal, let alone the description of the intrigues in the court.
