The Laid-Back Empress Dowager Is Forced to Get to Work

“By imperial decree, Wen Xian’an, the legitimate daughter of the Wen family, is dignified and gracious, with exceptional virtue and talent. She is hereby named Empress and shall take up residence in the central palace!”

“Oh no! The Emperor has passed away!”

“Your Majesty, the Empress, you must make a decision!”

“Your Majesty, the Empress Dowager, are you really going to rule from behind the curtain?”

Wen Xian’an’s life passed like a fleeting cloud. She spent most of it as Empress Dowager, and was Empress for only a short while before the Emperor died. Reborn into a new life, Wen Xian’an resolves to keep a low profile, stay alive, and enjoy herself. But the Emperor won’t let her!

The man in the seat of power smiled teasingly. “Empress, what would you like to eat today?”

Wen Xian’an rolled her eyes. Eat, eat, eat. All you ever think about is food. Even a laid-back life is no excuse to get as fat as a pig!
