Endless Summer, Southern Melody

Xia Nanyin catches Chen Bainian and Ming Wei kissing in the office.

She doesn't make a scene. Instead, she goes home, edits the affair video down to a three-minute highlight reel, and shows it to Ming Wei's fiancé, Ming Zhaoxu. "Mr. Ming, your fiancée is sleeping with my husband. Want to see?"

Ming Zhaoxu doesn't watch the video. His expression is cool and distant. "This has nothing to do with me."

She thinks for a moment. "Then what would make it your business?"

Later, Chen Bainian sees her arriving at a party on Ming Zhaoxu's arm, his face livid. "Nanyin, have you lost your mind?"

She doesn't know if she's lost her mind, but she thinks the aloof head of the Ming family might actually be the crazy one.

A fiancée's fiancé and a subordinate's ex-wife: there isn't just one degree of separation between them, but two.

She wants out of this dangerous relationship, which draws her deeper in with every step.

Ming Zhaoxu steps in front of her and grips her wrist.

"You walked into my territory," he says softly, looking down at her. "So don't leave."

It's not a request. It's a demand.

Singapore has no winter. He is the wind of the equator, warm yet cold, blowing a butterfly that has waited eight years into a tropical spider's web.
