Yearning for You, Like a Gardenia

Three years ago, a car accident erased Nan Zhi from Lu Chenzhou's world.

Everyone told him the same thing: She took thirty million and ran off with another man. He believed them, hated her for three years, then forced her to show herself by holding a wedding livestreamed across the entire city.

She came. With a different face and someone else's name, she knelt beneath the Lu Corporation's building, begging him to save a child whose father's name was left blank on the birth certificate.

He did not recognize her. Bending down, he spoke so softly only the two of them could hear: If you want me to save this child, she can come ask me herself. If she kneels here, I might consider it.

She remained kneeling, suddenly wanting to laugh. Lu Chenzhou, I'm already on my knees.

Later, he found the late-night hospitalization records in Yuncheng, dug up the empty grave halfway up the mountain, and held two pages written in identical handwriting as he stood outside her building for an entire night.

At dawn, his eyes red, he could only ask one thing: Teach me. Who should I have hated all these years?

He would repay her, one kneel at a time. She would reclaim what she owed herself, little by little.
