Middle-Aged and in the Spring of Life

Wang Gensheng lost his wife in his early years and raised his son alone. Fortunately, the boy had done well for himself and gone abroad to earn a doctorate.

He had three apartments that he rented out, and spent his days driving for a rideshare service. Life was full and comfortable.

Everything changed the moment Liu Mengruo, a former tenant who had moved away long ago, showed up at Wang Gensheng's door with her baby daughter in her arms.

Seeing the helpless mother and child, Wang Gensheng's heart softened, and he took them in.

Trouble soon came knocking after them.

Liu Mengruo's family wanted to sell her off for a bride price, while debt collectors demanded she repay her late husband's debts...

Wang Gensheng kept all these troubles outside his door and gave the mother and child a chance to live.

But when people share a roof for long enough, things are bound to happen.

What will Wang Gensheng do?
