The Xuanmen Master Exploits Bugs in a Horror Game

[Infinite-Flow] [Metaphysics] [Cosmic Horror] [Livestream]

"Is it against the law for a Taoist priest to summon evil spirits in a horror game?"

"It's not against the law. It's entrapment."

Yan Lan, a "three-nothing Taoist priest" with no money, merit, or magical powers, enters a brain-teasing infinite game crawling with evil spirits. Armed with a thermos of chrysanthemum and goji berry tea, she watches the spirits crawl around in the shadows, becoming an unexpected sensation. She breaks records, yet keeps getting dragged through the mud in the forums' trending topics.

A forum reporter interviews her about the buzz.

Yan Lan insists again and again, "I, a humble Taoist, am kindhearted, helpful, never lie, and am in a stable mental state. I've never had a negative effect on the audience. Maybe my way of clearing levels is a little unconventional, but there is absolutely no such thing as 'a Taoist causing havoc in a nest of evil spirits'!"

The reporter wholeheartedly agrees. The next day, the following article appears: "The Secret to Success":

[On such-and-such a date, God Yan shared her secret to success: "Keep your crazy stable, be villainous and unhinged, and go knock on the evil spirits' coffins to check their water meters whenever you have the chance. You too can single-handedly corrupt the moral climate of the cultivation world, the gaming world, and the spirit world!"]

Yan Lan: "..."

A mass escape from an asylum, a mouse wedding at a funeral banquet, candy ghosts in a chocolate factory, a black carnival competition. Countless wronged souls and fallen immortals, unable to seek redress, wail in this world.

Wandering in body, mad in deed, like a boat with no moorings.

This journey breaks the shackles, resolves karmic roots and debts of grievance, and accumulates immeasurable merit.

P.S. This is a shorter story about her past life. Its worldbuilding is the same as the next book (strictly speaking, the previous book).
