My Basket Connects the Past and Present: Making a Fortune and Getting Revenge Are Both a Breeze

Just as Xia Budong is about to starve to death, she encounters an incredible stroke of fortune.

Her shabby back basket somehow takes her to a place that could pass for the modern world.

There, she makes lots of new friends and tastes sweet treats she's never had before: the coolness of ice cream, the fizz of soda, and the rich flavor of chocolate.

She also trades naturally grown wild vegetables from ancient times for modern high-quality seeds, rice, flour, cooking oil, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, advanced farm tools, and medicine. Not only does she save every villager, young and old, but she also turns barren hills and bald ridges into thousands of acres of farmland and sprawling orchards.

As for those awful relatives, what do they have to do with her?

Xiahe Village is poor. There isn't even a proper dirt road in its mountain hollow. With steep slopes, barren land, a small population, and natural disasters on top of that, the villagers are nearly starving to death.

Ever since Xia Budong discovered that her back basket could connect the past and present, her fate began to change.

At first, she went to the modern world to scavenge leftovers. Later, she traded mountain produce for fertilizer, good seeds, and farm tools. At last, new greenery sprouted in the mountain hollow, and people saw hope for a future.

The poor mountain village got walls, a guard squad, and a school.

Once their stomachs were full, some people started looking for trouble.

The village chief roared, "Xia Budong is Xiahe Village's benefactor!

Anyone who dares lay a finger on her can get out of Xiahe Village!"

Gradually, people spread the word: "A living immortal has appeared in Xiahe Village!

Everyone, hurry to Xiahe Village!

There, there's meat at every meal, clothes for everyone, and new roof tiles on every house!"

With money in hand, the once-forgotten barren land became highly sought after.

Even the newly arrived county magistrate became Xia Budong's uncle by marriage.

And as for Xia Budong herself...
