I'm Dying of Cancer and Living on Welfare, and You Call Me a Refining Sect Master?

[Urban Immortal Cultivation] [Urban] [Countryside] [Farming] [System]

Chen Fan is diagnosed with late-stage liver cancer. Despairing, he returns to his village to lie flat and live on welfare.

He plans to enter an abandoned ancestral blacksmith shop in a blade-forging competition, win some prize money, and buy chemotherapy medication.

Unexpectedly, he awakens a System.

Wait, something doesn't seem right!

I'm a terminal cancer patient, and you're calling me the head of an artifact-forging sect?

And you want me to forge a magical artifact?

Why don't you shut down and restart, then take a look at what era this is?!

What, it can cure cancer?!

Sorry, I was a little loud just now.

Congratulations, Host. You have found the Primordial Earthfire. Reward: one cultivation technique.

Chen Fan looks down at the lighter in his hand and the firewood in the furnace, then falls silent.

Congratulations, Host. You have forged the Divine Phoenix-Blood Saber. Reward...

Chen Fan looks at the chicken in the pot and the chicken blood by the stove. He feels like he's losing his mind.

Years later, groups of young men in suits crowd around the blacksmith shop where Chen Fan works, making pancakes every day.

There are also foreign visitors with white cloths wrapped around their heads, waving gold cards and insisting on buying cooking utensils.

Most outrageous of all, an Eagle Sauce blond has even declared the ironware Chen Fan forged a strategic threat and banned its sale.

At the start, I really just wanted to earn some prize money to buy medicine!
