The Phoenix's Call

(One-on-one romance, devoted to each other, clear-headed and breathtakingly beautiful heroine vs. proud, secretly passionate straight-talking man) At seventeen, Wu Li was recognized by the Grand Tutor and his wife as a member of the Xie family. She became the Grand Tutor's legitimate daughter and, at her parents' arrangement, married the heir to the Prince of Huainan. After ten years of marriage, the heir spends his days chasing women and indulging in every vice. His mistress barges into the household with their illegitimate child, openly provoking Wu Li at every turn. Her in-laws are stingy and cruel, and even demand that she adopt the illegitimate child as her legitimate son. For the sake of the family she had regained and her family's good name, Wu Li bears the humiliation. In the end, she is still tormented to death. Only in her dying moments does she learn the truth: She is not a daughter of the Xie family! She is merely a scapegoat the Xie family found, a beautiful face made to endure ten years in hell in place of their real daughter. When she opens her eyes again, Wu Li has returned to the day the heir comes to discuss their marriage. She wastes no time: she captures the two culprits who ruined her life! One gets castrated! The other is stripped naked and thrown into the street! In this life, she'll make them repay everything they owed her in her previous life, with interest! After taking her revenge, she sets off with her bundle to search for her family, but a certain man blocks her way in an alley. "Didn't you say brothers are like hands and feet, and women like clothes? What brings Your Highness here?" "I've come out looking for clothes. After all, I'm a man of noble rank. I can endure losing a hand or a foot, but I can't endure going around indecently dressed."
