Playing the Heretic in the West: Refining the Human Emperor Banner from the Start

Ji Yan, master of the Myriad Souls Valley, one of the three great unorthodox cultivation sects on the Eastern Continent, died when the other two unorthodox sects and the righteous path attacked him as he was breaking through. His soul was reborn on the Western Continent, where he unexpectedly joined the Black Demon Sect, an unorthodox cultivation sect.

The sect specializes in harvesting and refining souls, and has made a name for itself in the Western Continent.

After joining, Ji Yan assumed that Western unorthodox cultivators were just like their Eastern counterparts, killing anyone who displeased them. So he was always on his guard, terrified that he might offend a fellow disciple and get his soul harvested and refined.

Only after Ji Yan crafted the Banner of the Human Emperor did he finally dare to talk to his fellow disciples.

Ji Yan: “How many souls do you harvest and refine in a day?”

Western unorthodox cultivator: “One a month!”

Ji Yan: “One a month? You damn righteous-path spy! Get in my Banner of the Human Emperor!”
