The Ming Dynasty's Borderland Heir

Lin Zhao, a master's graduate in modern military logistics and the youngest logistics officer in the entire army, met with an accident during a border resupply exercise.

When he opened his eyes, he had become a useless heir in the Jiajing era of the Ming Dynasty, banished to the frontier of Liaodong.

His predecessor was the eldest legitimate son of the Marquis of Zhenbei. After offending the Yan faction, he was framed and exiled to serve in the frontier army. And that wasn't all: his own father, the Marquis of Zhenbei, had already announced at court that he might as well have no son.

Liaodong was bitterly cold. Military rations were embezzled, armor and weapons were rotting, and the tents leaked. The garrison went hungry as it fought. His predecessor had literally starved to death.

But as Lin Zhao surveyed the battered supply depot, his mind began racing.

Others saw a desperate situation. He saw a complete, utterly chaotic logistics supply chain in urgent need of professional overhaul.

In three days, he devised a system for accounting for military supplies and recovered thirty percent of the grain lost to layers of embezzlement. In seven days, he rebuilt the weapons maintenance process, returning rusted swords and blades to the battlefield. In three months, he quadrupled the frontier army's supply turnover. The entire border region was asking: where had this useless heir learned such skills?

War raged at the border, the court was locked in political struggles, and the Yan faction was hunting him down.

Lin Zhao had only wanted to survive long enough to return to the capital. He never expected that his modern logistics system would turn a ragtag army into the sharpest blade in the Ming Dynasty.

When news reached him from the capital that he had "betrayed the country and colluded with the enemy," he had already built a complete supply network for eight frontier garrisons.

This isn't a story about a useless man turning his life around. It's the story of a logistics expert who used supply chains to shatter the rules of the entire Ming Dynasty.
