Fangs

Fitness trainer Lin Feng is slick-tongued, crafty, and fond of bragging. Forced by his mother to enlist, he plans to stick it out for two years and then run. Squad leader Zhou Yi says, “That big mouth of yours is going to get you in trouble sooner or later.” Company commander Lei Ting says, “Second place is just the first loser.” Team leader Old Eagle says, “Special forces aren’t about individual heroics. We’re screws in a machine.” From the “Beast Camp” company to exile at a grassland observation post, from hellish selection trials to life-and-death battles as a mercenary overseas, he pushes past his limits, sheds blood, and lets his comrades drag him through the final mile. He thinks he can protect everyone. Until his childhood sweetheart falls on the border and tells him, “Live well for me.” Until his best friend retires on crutches, cursing him: “You’re a first-class merit special forces soldier, and you’re going to lay bricks? What a disgrace.” Lin Feng takes off his uniform and goes alone into the jungles of Southeast Asia. Not for revenge, but to keep a promise. Five hundred chapters, the story of half a man's life. There is the fire of an underdog's rise, the steel of “never leave anyone behind, never give up,” and the tears that follow battles fought through ice and snow. At last, he stands on the training ground and says to the old brothers beside him: “We’re getting old.” “But the army will always be young.” Dedicated to everyone who left their youth in the barracks.
