The 1970s: You Were Sent to the Countryside to Reform, So Why Are You Saving Lives and Becoming a Saint?

When he opens his eyes, top surgeon Chu Yun finds himself a hapless man in the 1970s.

His mentor has been framed, his future ruined, and he has been dumped in Yong'an Brigade, a godforsaken place where everyone avoids him as a reactionary's lackey.

Everyone expects him to rot in the mud, treating him as a pushover they can bully at will.

Faced with this desperate situation, Chu Yun smiles.

You call this punishment. I call it paradise.

Here, trust is at its purest, and disease is at its most primal.

When a bone-scraping surgery performed at gunpoint shocks the whole village; when he pulls one patient after another, condemned by major hospitals, back from death's door; when a backward township clinic becomes the final destination for the nation's most baffling cases... the whole era goes wild!

A powerful figure from the capital pounds his chest in regret: "We sent you there for reform. Who told you to become the nation's greatest surgeon?"

Chu Yun holds his scalpel, his gaze calm. "I'm just a doctor. In my eyes, life comes before everything else."
