Star of the Police Force

1997, Haizhou Wharf.

A chance encounter between Shen Kaixuan and Han Chunwang could not overcome the diverging fates swept along by the tide of the times.

The emergency room in the dead of night hides an unspoken love, while beneath the lights of a seafood food stall stands an old friend torn between loyalty and love. Brothers turn against each other, lovers betray one another, and powerful patrons throw their protection around the guilty. When the investigation’s guns are aimed at an old friend, and justice and loyalty tear at each other without end, this battle is no longer about right and wrong. It is about a generation swept up in the turbulent currents along China’s southern coast.

Some end up behind bars; others hold fast to their principles. The sea remains silent and enigmatic.
