After Forcing Her to Love Him, the Brooding Minister Begged Her to Bear His Heir

[Sweet-natured, resilient beauty VS sinister, obsessive minister]

After one night together, Chu Nian became pregnant with the child of Jing Xuan, the prime minister.

He promised her a future, so she gave up her chance to buy her freedom and waited eagerly for him to marry her.

On the day of the wedding, she wore a phoenix crown and red bridal robes. To her surprise, she had been tricked into entering the household as a concubine.

Someone else was to be his principal wife.

She confronted Jing Xuan, but he said, “Chu Nian, I did make you a promise. But you should know its limits. Given your background, you could never be the principal wife of the Jing household.”

She wanted to leave, but her belly grew rounder by the day.

With a child on the way, Jing Xuan was certain she couldn’t go anywhere. He kept her at arm’s length, but once her heart had completely turned cold, she quietly left.

On the road out of the capital, she was stopped. The man clutched their child and begged, “Niannian, you’re the only one who can be the principal wife of the Jing household. And our child can’t grow up without a mother...”

She said, “I don’t want the child, and I don’t want you.”
