The Joys of Country Living

The homebody Wen Zhu is reborn as village girl Wen Lüzhu,

and finds herself pregnant before she’s even married.

Stuck in a remote, impoverished village full of bachelors,

with nothing but poverty, hardship, and vicious gossip, she can hardly see a way out.

She learns the local dialect, studies new skills, and starts a farmstay,

working hard to escape poverty.

Just as she has a little money and plans to find a handsome young man to marry into her family,

the child’s father shows up.
