Swallowing the Pearl and Becoming the Dragon King

In the waning years of the dynasty, the emperor above was obsessed with cockfighting and hunting dogs, neglecting the affairs of state. Below him, corrupt officials, local bullies, and powerful landlords colluded to exploit the people. The empire crumbled and the land fell into chaos. Peasants rose in revolt and swept across half the realm; gangs waged wars, great clans carved out territories, martial masters slaughtered entire cities, and immortals played their games of strategy...

Zhang Shun transmigrated and became a fisherman making a living in the marshes. Above him, petty clerks and low-ranking officials were insatiably greedy; below him, fishing tyrants and gangs fought over their territory. The common people suffered at every turn. Fortunately, Zhang Shun swallowed a Dragon Pearl, letting him move through the water like a bird returning to the forest, a dragon leaping through the depths. He also possessed dragon blood, which could turn fish, shrimp, crabs, and other river creatures into demons and bring them under his command.

With the world in turmoil, I'll rule as a king in my underwater Dragon Palace, with shell-maidens raising their cups and shrimp soldiers standing guard. I stir up storms when I venture out and expand my watery domain when I return. What can the immortals in heaven do to me?
