Tales by Lamplight

In the late Qing and early Republican era, the Great Qing Dynasty’s mandate was nearing its end. The Seven-Star Fiend Formation, placed beneath the coffins in the imperial mausoleum’s nether palace to suppress ghosts and spirits, was disturbed. As a result, yin spirits and other supernatural beings awoke, took human form, and possessed corpses...

But all things have their counterparts and counters. Where ghosts and demons wreaked havoc, righteous warriors also wielded orthodox arts. Buddhist demon-subduing scriptures, Maoshan talismans, soul-hooking spells, Qimen Dunjia, Western Regions sorcery, Miaojiang gu magic, and more all emerged into the world. In the late Qing and early Republican era, four Yin-Yang masters saved the lives of countless people through their own strength. They were:

“Zombie Taoist Master Mao Xiaofang, the Ma family of the Exorcist Dragon Clan, Maoshan master Uncle Lin Jiu, and Yin-Yang emissary Bai Shibao.”

Let us tell the story of Bai Shibao...
