The Hidden-Marriage Movie Queen: The Madam Takes the Lead

In her previous life, Jin Jiayi was a treacherous official and the only female prime minister in the history of the Jiaye Dynasty. She was shrewd and adept at dealing with people, yet brought an entire dynasty to the brink of ruin. By the laws of heaven, she should have gone straight to hell after she died, never to escape. But she never expected that she would close her eyes, open them again, and be reborn in a new life. As for Jin Jiayi in this life, she has enjoyed great success ever since she was little. Her father, Jin Zhu, is the richest nouveau riche in Yao City. He wears golden Buddhist prayer beads, has gold teeth, and sports a pair of huge gold earrings, living up to his reputation as a vulgar tycoon. Her mother, Yao Cui, is the best mahjong player in Yao City. As long as the mahjong game keeps going, she’ll live forever. But Jin Jiayi, who has always been the one outsmarting others, never thought she’d slip up one day. A marriage contract makes her a married woman, and as for her husband, they’ve never even met before! Xi Chen is the head of the Empire’s foremost family. Orphaned as a child, he is decisive and ruthless in his dealings with others, and a man feared by all the great families of the capital. He says, “My rules are the rules of the entertainment industry, and there are only three words to those rules: Do as I say!” She laughs it off. “My rules are the rules of the Xi family, and the Xi family’s rules also come down to three words: Do as I say!” Scene One: The spirited Jin Jiayi faints on set? The paparazzi sniff out something strange and flood into the hospital like a bursting dam. The doctor says, “You’re pregnant.” Jin Jiayi: … The doctor continues, “About eight weeks along.” Jin Jiayi: Is technology really that advanced these days? You can get pregnant without even having a sex life? The doctor says solemnly, “I know someone in your position may be wary of marriage and children, but the baby is innocent.” Jin Jiayi never had a child in her previous life, but she has seen the princes and grandsons of emperors. Her first thought is that she absolutely cannot have this baby! “Terminate the pregnancy,” she says firmly. Scene Two: Jin Jiayi senses something is wrong, very wrong. Why is her stomach getting bigger and bigger? Xi Chen keeps up his daily routine of seeing her once a day, whether in the middle of nowhere or at a fashion show overseas. Today, though, he feels that something is off about the way she’s looking at him. Jin Jiayi asks seriously, “Have I put on weight?” Xi Chen shakes his head. “You were too thin before.” Jin Jiayi frowns. “You haven’t noticed all the fat on my stomach?” As if to prove it, she gives it a hard pinch. Xi Chen’s expression turns grave. He quietly stops her. “No. It’s just right.” Jin Jiayi gives him a sidelong look and swears she’ll start dieting tomorrow. Until the baby arrives. Jin Jiayi: Go on, keep making things up. What is this thing? Xi Chen: Your flesh and blood… Scene Three: For Jin Jiayi, who rarely has any scandals, even a lack of news calls for making some. A reporter asks, “Rumor has it that Miss Jin does whatever she wants on set and changes the script whenever she likes?” Xi Chen replies without changing his expression, “I spoil her.” The reporter asks again, “They say Miss Jin looks down on everyone and even bosses around her seniors?” Xi Chen says with a straight face, “I spoil her.” The reporter asks again, “There are rumors that Miss Jin is jealous and spiteful, and ignores every other actress?” Xi Chen declares righteously, “I spoil her!” Reporter… deceased.
