A Passionate Marriage

This is the remarkable story of a single mother who rises to become the queen of medicinal cuisine. It's also a heartwarming romance about a four-and-a-half-year-old girl playing matchmaker for her parents. At twenty-nine, she is a single mother, bringing her four-and-a-half-year-old daughter to seek shelter with her widowed mother among relatives who look down on them. Let's just say there are plenty of people in this world who can't see what's right in front of them. In truth, she is the sole inheritor of the medical arts of a Qing Dynasty imperial physician, and her treatments are worth more than gold. A tree lives for its bark, and a person lives for pride! She takes charge of her own life and her daughter's, growing a small shop into an industry giant. She rises step by step to claim the top spot, admired by all. At a lavish banquet, she arrives with her daughter, plainly dressed and without makeup, blending into the crowd of ordinary people. The guests look down on them. An elder calls their names. The mother and daughter walk straight through the crowd to him and smile gracefully. “Today, your great-granddaughter has brought her daughter to wish you a happy birthday. Our gift is small, but our love is great: one little pill.” She opens an unremarkable little box. Inside, a tiny pill gives off a startlingly icy aura. It's a life-saving pill made from a lost secret recipe of the Qing imperial family. The whole hall gasps.
