In July, a double typhoon triggers a storm surge that begins the apocalypse in the island nation. Super-high temperatures soon sweep across the globe, followed by torrential rain, earthquakes, insect plagues, extreme cold, nuclear contamination, and mutated plants and animals. One natural disaster after another strikes!

While others fight to the death over a pack of instant noodles or half a bottle of water, Jiang Yan grows vegetables and raises fish, living it up in her safe house with the air conditioning on and hot pot on the table.
