The Four-Year-Old Sleuth: Her Mother Is a Force to Be Reckoned With

Chu Nanzhi, an Interpol officer, transmigrates to the final years of the Dahe Empire and becomes a wicked woman hated throughout the surrounding villages, as well as the cruel mother of four little ones.

On her very first day in this new world, she faces the disaster of her whole family being wiped out. Using the skills she acquired in her previous life, she clears her original husband's name, saving herself and the four little ones.

When they return home, Lin Jinxiao and the four little ones still hate her and remain on guard against her at every turn.

Seeing Lin Jinxiao bedridden and the four little ones so young, Chu Nanzhi doesn't want anyone to find fault with her. She decides to wait until Lin Jinxiao has recovered, then divorce him, promising to look after the children in the meantime.

After earning the trust of the county magistrate and wealthy families, Chu Nanzhi uses that time to become a skilled investigator. She supports her family by solving cases, helps the magistrate crack numerous investigations, and gradually changes the villagers' opinion of her.

Later, when Chu Nanzhi asks Lin Jinxiao for a divorce, the four little ones are the first to refuse.

When she goes out to investigate a case, the four little ones fear she won't come back and scamper after her. “Mother, we want to go with you!”

When she goes to the capital for an audience with the emperor, the young county magistrate grabs her hand and refuses to let go. “You're already a mother of four.”

One day, Lin Jinxiao becomes emperor. He pulls Chu Nanzhi into his arms and says, “You've spent years investigating cases. From now on, stay in the palace and investigate me properly. I have a grievance to plead!”
