Starting Out Selling Lunch Boxes at a Construction Site

Heard the food at construction sites isn’t very good?

Well, how convenient! I sell lunch boxes right outside the construction site!

For eight yuan, you get two portions of meat, one vegetable dish, and a pot of rich, slow-simmered soup. The box comes packed with rice, guaranteed to fill you up.

What’s on the menu today?

Glutinous rice pearl meatballs, minced pork stir-fried with Grandma’s pickled vegetables, and quick-fried tender cucumber.

It’s pretty hot today, right? How about some mung bean soup to cool you down?

Want a serving?

I only meant to run a lunch-box stall to earn enough to support my family. But before I knew it, the little stall by the construction site had turned into Xu’s Fast Food Restaurant, and then, in the blink of an eye, Xu’s Fast Food Restaurant had become Xu’s Catering. The business expanded from Haishi to Haiyang Province, and then across the country...

Let me set the record straight!

I admit I used a little trick to make Xu’s braised food a hit, but I honestly never expected it to become famous nationwide! As for helping members of the Disabled Persons’ Federation find jobs and build new lives, that was a coincidence, truly just a coincidence!

And the poverty relief and support for farmers? That was really just about creating a win-win situation. It wasn’t because I’m such a noble person! Still, if you insist on giving me an honor like [Poverty Relief Star Enterprise] or [Honorary Village Director], I won’t turn it down!

Oh! What’s that?

Xujia Village has become a tourist destination? Watch the sunrise by the sea in the morning, catch mudskippers on the tidal flats before noon, head out to sea for oysters in the afternoon, then soak in a hot spring on the water at night and gaze up at the stars and the ocean. Living like an immortal, you ask? How do I explain that?

Well, that’s not something I can explain in just a sentence or two. You’ll find all the answers in the book. Dear readers, please step right in~
