Joining Sichuan Airlines, Starting with the Rescue of a Great Power's Captain

Is flying the safest way to travel? When a plane isn't safe, you don't even get a chance to escape.

As the youngest captain at Sichuan Airlines, Lu Qingzhou is assigned by the company to take part in a variety show called "A Month Exploring a Profession."

After footage from the first day airs, Lu Qingzhou trends online, mocked for having nothing to do in the cockpit.

"It's on autopilot the whole time. You could tie a dog to the captain's seat and it'd do just as well."

"The plane has autopilot in the air and an instrument landing system for landing. Tell me, what's difficult about the job?"

"Being a pilot is great. You can doze off and still earn a million a year."

But as more footage airs, netizens can no longer sit still.

"Holy crap, a passenger plane can do a 'vertical takeoff' too?"

"Forcing a landing in thick fog? Aren't you worried something could go wrong?"

"Officer, I'd like to report this plane for speeding."

"Planes look dangerous, but it turns out they're not safe at all."

When the show's interview with the passengers is leaked, it sparks an even bigger debate.

Reporter: What did you think of the trip?

Passenger: Bleugh... (vomiting)

Netizen: I experienced that 'vertical takeoff' once. After the plane left the ground, I felt like I was about to be lying flat in my seat.

Lu Qingzhou says these are all minor incidents.

Until one day, he flies a plane from Shancheng to Riguangcheng!!!
