On March 19, the 17th year of Chongzhen, Li Zicheng, the "Emperor of Dashun Yongchang", captured Beijing, and Zhu Youjian, the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty, hanged himself. Only 34 days later, Li Zicheng fought against Wu Sangui and the Qing reinforcements at Shanhaiguan, and the Dashun army was defeated in a stone blow.
