Marrying for Joy

Years ago,

Man: You're so vulgar and rude. How will you ever find someone to marry you?

Woman: If I can't find anyone, I'll marry you!

Years later,

Man: Will you marry me?

Woman: Well, I'm afraid you'll have to get my mother's approval first.

The man was full of confidence, but he proposed to the wrong person and got engaged to the wrong one.

How will this hapless son-in-law win over his mother-in-law, who serves as the wedding matron for the consummation ceremony?
