Rising from Humble Beginnings

This is a traditional alternate history novel. At the end of the Western Jin dynasty, the Five Barbarians ravaged China, and the sons and daughters of the Han people were slaughtered like pigs and dogs. Wang Lie transmigrates into this world. Born to a poor family, he has served in the army and become an outlaw. He raises Xie An, the brilliant strategist, and the Martial Lord of Heaven, who slays countless Hu warriors. He tells his enemies, “I win people over with virtue, because everyone who refuses to submit is dead.” A lowly soldier rises up, tramples the aristocratic clans, cowes the Hu tribes with his blade, and climbs ever higher.
