Proving the Dao Through Journey to the West in Another World

Legend has it that Journey to the West is a book about cultivating the Dao...

With the original Journey to the West in hand, Zhang Lei was reborn in another world. After Wu Cheng'en talked him into it, he began unraveling the mysteries of Journey to the West and gradually embarked on the path to immortality.

Just as he had made a little progress in his cultivation, Heaven offered him a position, and a bodhisattva came to convert him.

He laughed and said:

A bright future, a bright future! If I follow you, will I have to live on the wind? If I obey the law, I’ll be beaten to death; if I obey the Buddha’s law, I’ll starve to death.

I’m off!

I’m off!

I’d rather live free and easy. What do I care about two crimes, three crimes, a thousand crimes, or ten thousand? If Heaven itself won’t tolerate me, then I’ll kill any god who stands in my way, kill any Buddha who stands in my way, and rebel! Rebel! Rebel!!!!!!
