Though we are hounds of the court, the one we protect is the supreme Emperor, and the Emperor is the realm itself, representing all its power and wealth. That makes us the most exalted hounds in the land. In our right hands, we hold life; in our left, death. We stand just below the summit of power, and often raise our voices to the heavens.
