Dream of the Red Chamber is the biggest and most despair-inducing cliffhanger I’ve ever encountered, bar none. I’m always imagining that if I had a time machine, I’d gladly sell my liver and kidneys to travel back and beg Master Cao to let me read the ending.

Until that dream comes true, I’ll make my own version for now.
